Mallorca was the dreamiest island. The south part of the island is lined with resorts and white sand beaches. But we decided to escape the crowds and rent a car in Palma to explore the quieter side of Mallorca. Itinerary: Day 1: Fly into Palma and drive to Pollenca Day 2: Cap de Formenter, Port de Pollenca, & drive to Port de Soller Day 3: Hiking & evening in Soller Day 4: Beach Day & Deia Day 5: Breakfast and early flight back to Barcelona Getting There & Getting Around: They have 11 hour ferries but I definitely recommend tracking Ryanair flights and packing light. We scored 42$ roundtrip tickets that took less than an hour! We originally were planning on taking public transportation everywhere, but our airbnb hosts recommended renting a car because the bus system there isn't as dependable. We were so jazzed we got a car in the long run because it gave us a ton of flexibility. Pollenca & the portPollenca was one of my favorite areas in Spain. It is an ancient town filled with kind people, great food, and old-time feels. It was the only place in Spain we visited that felt untouched by tourism. We scored a huge, cheap airbnb in the middle of the city that was made up of sandstone walls, a wood-burning stove, and a cute patio to have tea on. You can read more about our accommodations and expenses here . Transportation Driving to Pollenca was a breeze, but once we got there the streets became more and more narrow; there were definitely a few times I thought we were going to get stuck. Luckily, we found a free parking area not too far from our airbnb. I recommend parking in the structure across the street from Parque Infantil on the corner of Carrer de Cecili Metel and Carrer Dones de Can Sales. Food The food in Pollenca and the port were amazing. I recommend doing tapas tours and trying out a bit of everything. Here are a few of my favorite places we ate at:

Soller & The Port We stayed at an cheap airbnb for the rest of our trip and used this as our base while we did day trips. It was 70$ a night with a view overlooking the harbor, 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and access to paddleboards. We felt so spoiled. Port de Soller was definitely much more touristy than our time in Pollenca but we didn't mind at all. Transportation: We left our car at the house for the most part and walked around. The port is extremely walkable. They also have a cute shuttle from the port to the city center that runs throughout the day. We additionally took a cab into the city center at night to go to a festival and it was only 10 euro. Things To Do:

DeiàCala Deià We spent the day at Cala Deià, a beautiful cove beach, about 40 minutes away from our place in the port. Its a pretty windy drive so prepare yourself! We brought our own food and drinks but there are two small restaurant bars as well. There are a few people going topless but definitely not as much as in Barcelona so do whatever you're comfortable with! There were a few people cliff jumping as well, but the water was low tide at the time so be careful and check out the depth beforehand. If you swim to the east side, there are some cool little caves and areas to perch. Paid parking so make sure you have some cash on you. The water is crystal clear and every spot in the cove offers beautiful views. When you first walk down, the beach is on the left trail. If you go to the right, you can follow a short trail to get some awesome views of the cove and coastline. Deià The town of Deià also has amazing views to offer. The whole town is stunning. This was about a 10 minute drive from the beach and we came here for a bite after a long day at the beach. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from. I definitely recommend grabbing some fresh-squeezed juice while you're here!
